End Furniture Poverty is recruiting!

We need an energetic, multi-talented, hugely passionate new team member who will make a big contribution to everything to do with our campaign to End Furniture Poverty….and more besides.

Working with FRC Group’s Business Development Manager, the Campaigns Officer, will be involved with every element of our campaigns – from research and data analysis to developing campaign themes and messages, to running our social media campaigns and devising and hosting campaign events and working on a one to one basis with partner organisations such as social housing providers.

The Campaigns Officer will thrive in working in a complex environment and juggling multiple projects. They will have proven strong project management skills and will have a track-record of working independently to understand complex issues. The Campaigns Officer will put their passion for social media to use developing tailored social media strategies for End Furniture Poverty and for the themed or sector-specific campaigns it runs.

The Campaigns Officer will have a role to play in our Social Value Team to support the measurement of social value created by End Furniture Poverty and its specific campaign activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Researching the issue of Furniture Poverty, its prevalence, causes and effects through:

  • Primary research by engaging with different stakeholder groups using different techniques such as one-to-one interviews, focus groups, surveys etc.

  • Secondary research techniques to bring together existing data and insight

  • Maintaining and disseminating an up to date knowledge of the wider policy context for Furniture Poverty

  • Mapping the existing provision of different solutions to Furniture Poverty

  • Mapping the opportunities to expand solutions to Furniture Poverty

  • Creating and maintaining a database and library of relevant information and publications

Developing End Furniture Poverty and its specific campaigns

  • Creating content for End Furniture Poverty

  • Keeping the website up to date

  • Creating content for specific campaign microsites that are developed for specific markets

  • Creating content for distribution through various channels including social media e.g. blogs, thought pieces, comment articles, short films, research presentations, infographics

  • Working with the Business Development Manager to develop and deliver campaign events targeting specific influencers

  • Representing End Furniture Poverty at partner meetings, events and training to promote our issues and influence attendees

Social Media

Developing and delivering tailored social media strategies for EndFurniturePoverty.Org and for the themed or sector-specific campaigns it runs.

Social Value Measurement

  • To be part of the Social Value Team and to work with colleagues to create models that will demonstrate the social value created by specific solutions to Furniture Poverty:

    • Furnished tenancy programmes

    • Furniture reuse

    • Use of affordable credit

    • Local Welfare Provision programmes

  • To work with campaign partners to measure the social value created by activity to End Furniture Poverty

  • Carry out responsibilities as described in the FRC Group Health and Safety Policy, ensuring that activities are carried out in a way that is safe and without risk to health to yourself or others.

  • Undertake any other work appropriate to the job as directed by your supervisor or training deemed necessary by the company to include training courses which may take place at weekends.

  • Attend all meetings as requested by your supervisor, unless with prior arrangement of absence, including monthly group communications meetings.

Decision Making Authority

You are required to clear any issues relating to policy with your supervisor. You are also required to obtain clearance for any expenditure not in line with agreed budgets.

Salary: £24,908.00 /year
